Transportation and Forwarder Management



Job Description

Job Description:

A. Transportation Part:

  1. Support the development & maintenance of guidelines/methods in the functional area "transportation design" (for all Automotive divisions)

  2. Align guidelines with NPM purchasing, global ASCM team and implement on operational level

  3. Plant support in terms of operational escalations (e.g. damages, delays) and consultancy

  4. Plant support for reducing premium freights and improve processes

B. Forwarder Management

  1. Transportation process improvement in collaboration with the forwarding industry

  2. Execution of strategic workshops with plants and forwarders including implementation and follow up

  3. Accomplishment of quarterly business review meetings on regional level including implementation and follow up

  4. Performance management and continuounus improvement

  5. Evaluate On-Time-Delivery performance monthly (OTD) and Damage ratio monthly

6 Continuous benchmarking between different logistics service providers in order to ensure always competitive costs

  1. Evaluate performance of forwarders on plant level (Evasys evaluation tool)

  2. Jointly analysis with forwarders and define countermeasures in order to improve the performance and follow up

C.Project Management

  1. Collaboration in global freight RFQ's (Tendering) as a regional project leader/manager

  2. Constructing, maintaining and analysing of freight volume data bases for the optimization of the transportation supply chain & for RFQ's

  3. Project team work in the implementation of freight RFQ's (of all transport modes) and further logistics projects

  4. Implementation of global and regional strategy in terms of transportation and forwarder setup

D. Continuous Improvement

  1. Assistance and execution of transportation analyses at all Continental Automotive plants

  2. Analyze the physical material flow of Continental locations and define potential optimization projects and logistics concepts and possibilities and implement them

  3. Collaborate with the function of packaging in order to further optimize the supply chain and material flow in order to reduce costs

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

1.International transportation, basic knowledge in the area of customs and foreign trade

2.Understanding of freight forwarder industry

3.Project management, negotiation skills with internal (BU, plant, NPM) and external (customer depots), create win-win situations, Strong analytical thinking

4.Bachelor degree in logistics, supply chain management

5.Minimum 5 years working experience in similar position

6.Process design and implementation experience

7.Negotiation skills and create win-win-solutions

8.worked in international teams for at least 3 years
