Primary source for polymer(plastic) material expertise, information, and analysis at the ContiTech – Changshu.
Conduct characteristics validation, and support process validation for all new thermoplastic materials.
Develop new material strategies for lower cost manufacturing with improved quality.
Represent CT MTO ATD to manage plastic material approvals for local material suppliers in China
Fully immerse in and understand the existing products, product materials, structure, specifications to support BUs’ on-going plastic material applications on process optimization and trouble shooting.
Fully immerse in and understand the formulation, process and manufacturing for fuel cell system products, to take the lead of related material development or advantage study.
Conduct in-depth competitive analysis and teardown to understanding existing and competitors’ products
Advise the broader BU R&D Team on how we can make better materials for manufacturing
Represent Contitech at local material suppliers in China, be responsible for quantifying the materials, specifications as well as vendors
Cooperate cross functions for technical reviews and development.
- Polymer Science/engineering or Materials Engineering degree. MS or Ph. D or equivalent experience preferred
2.0-2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing facility as material engineer, process engineer; working experience on design and development of plastic or rubber related product is a plus.
Fundamental knowledge and understanding in the areas of the thermoplastics & thermo-sets materials chemistry, experience with standard analytical tools (FTIR, DSC, Rheometer, DMA, etc.) is a plus.
Basic knowledge of injection molding, blow molding and extrusion process of kinds of plastic materials.
Proficient in working with a variety of IT systems, including statistical analysis systems.
Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to manage projects independently.
Willingness and ability to do hands-on work as required.
