Process Engineer



Job Description

  • Ensure the targeted process capability for his/her manufacturing processes. Reaching the required technical availability and process quality on the equipment under his/her responsibility.

  • He/she is responsible of one /more process steps from his/her area of responsibility

  • He/she is process owner of the processes defined by the Process Engineering Team Leader

  • He/she is responsible for the technical troubleshooting regarding his/her processes and equipment

  • In case of supplier issue the failures has to be documented and reported

  • Develop/improve the programs of production equipment

  • He/she is responsible for the installation of the production equipment and preparation of validation/release procedures

  • He/she actively takes part in preparation of specification, requirement list and decision matrix

  • He/she is responsible for the continuous improvement of his/her processes (maintenance, process capability)

  • He/she implements/ supports new product launches, index changes and deviations including documentation

  • He/she keeps contact with the TechNet local and global champion for his/her processes

  • He/she contributes to the global standardization of his/her processes and implements the global standards in his/her processes

  • He/she is responsible for updating the spare parts management list with the spare parts of his/her equipment

  • He/she has to respond to the production alarm systems, which is activated, if the realization of the production plan or the product quality is in danger

  • He/she is responsible of reaching the targeted KPIs in his/her processes (ex: scrap rate, ""zero ppm"" etc.)"

  • He/she takes part actively in the implementation of appropriate solution in terms of the quality requirements/standards (FMEA, Control Plan, etc.)

  • He/she has to work according to the procedures, work instructions, standards

  • He/she has to keep updated the process documentation related to his/her processes/ equipment

  • He/she has to propose cost improvement projects for his/her process steps

  • He/she is responsible for ensuring the technical knowledge regarding his/her process steps for the realization of the daily production plan

  • He/she is responsible for the technical availability of his/her equipment

  • He/she is responsible of the training of operators/ technicians/ engineers

  • He/she has to maintain his technical know-how, and must participate in the trainings, organized by the company

  • He/she documents the lessons learned of all the processes from his/her area of responsibility

  • He/ she is responsible for the creating and implementing of CBS/ 6 Sigma Projects/ CIM Ideas

  • He/she drives continuous improvement projects"

  • He/she reports to his /her superior and other departments about the actual status and about the future tasks regarding his/her processes

  • He/she takes part in company global projects"

  • He/she is responsible for the data security of his/her processes and equipment. He/she has to order (at production IT) the proper back-up and recovery solutions, and continuously apply them

  • Proceed in conformity with applicable legal requirements and other requirements, in conformity with internal requirements included in the quality and environment handbook, internal procedures and operating instructions.

  • Observes Continental ESH, CBS and 5s rules.

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Personal conflict of interest rules. Job Requirements

  • Programming / Electronics / Vision professional knowledge

  • Procedures and work instructions

  • Practical understanding of modern production and quality management tools: 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone analysis

  • Experience with Automotive Quality standards

  • Customer Specific Requirements

  • Good command of English language

  • Communication skills
