The company has its own 300-mph test wheel; a technology center; state-of-the-art, fully-integrated production facilities recently adding a high-tech mixing plant, with enough capacity to produce not only for Hoosier Racing Tire, but to have the ability to produce rubber for additional entities as well as a model sales and distribution network.
Our Hoosier location at Plymouth, IN is seeking a Machine & Tool Designer to join our team.

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the documentation, record keeping, project management, quoting and procurement of components for the upgrade and repair of the plants' equipment, tooling, facilities, and maintenance systems.
Goals and Functions:
Plan and aggressively pursue equipment and building projects. These projects will include overhauls, upgrades, re-designs, productivity improvements, and installations. New and rebuilt equipment must be tracked using Reliability and Maintainability guidelines and techniques from conception to decommissioning.
Work with Plant Engineering Staff to lower vendor base by:
a. Standardizing components to equipment types by make, model and distributor.
b. Specifying standardized components to equipment vendors/rebuilders.
c. Specifying the best component available at the best price.
Perform various duties involving machine support, and engineering design work.
Compose (Electronically or sketched) instructions, BOM's, and machine layouts needed by Maintenance personnel for upgrades, installations, and engineering changes.
Pursue training, mentoring, and offer instruction to maintenance personnel.
Organize and maintain the integrity of equipment files, support documentation, drawings, drawing database, manuals and maintain Plant Engineering drawing Vault, as well as provide updates to the CMM database.
Coordinate and provide timely feedback with the Plant Engineering department, working schedules for emergency repairs, planned repairs, project work, engineering changes, equipment installations, and estimates for downtime length.
Dimensioning and producing electronic drawings of tooling, repair, and first-time components for quoting and fabrication.
Perform various duties such as engineering design work (CAD). Including Solid Modeling.
Evaluate machine components that have failed and redesign if necessary.

• Manufacturing Technology degree, 2 or 4 years, or related CAD, 3D modeling technical skills and knowledge
• Valid driver’s license
• Required computer skills include proficiency in Office 365 Tools, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
• Manufacturing experience
• Strong mechanical background
