Job Description
As electronics content is significantly increasing in new car architectures and technical complexity is a major driver for new technologies, we as purchasing organization want to shape and drive these trends from material perspective. We engage with all major semiconductor vendors in projects across Continentals product portfolio. For the below described position we also look for someone with technical background and/or affinity.
The key tasks are the following:
Definition of the supplier strategy and market analysis reflecting Business Units requirements
Steering the project implementation of latest technology developments in the fields of WiFi, Bluetooth & GNSS
Introduction of new semiconductor vendors
Software & IP: Contributing to the success of Continental with innovative sourcing methods, e.g. creating competitive advantage through smart IP regulations
Performing annual price and contract negotiations
Implementing innovative negotiation concepts during sourcing to create the basis for procurement success
Being closely related to R&D, Portfolio Management & Sales; ensuring material strategy implementation in projects
Supplier management in conjunction with cross- functional partners, such as R&D, Quality Management and Logistics to select and develop the best suppliers and to establish an optimum supply chain
Building trustworthy & reliable business relationships both internally and externally
Support improvement programs with Suppliers and Business Units (e.g. Design to Cost, Cost down measures, Introduction of new technologies, etc.)
Planning, steering and monitoring of material field-specific targets, their implementation and results
Compiling and presenting information related to sourcing process to management committees

Job Requirements
Academic degree in Engineering, Business Administration or comparable qualification
Professional experience in Purchasing, R&D, Controlling or comparable
Eager to learn new skillsets and to develop personally
Good German and English language skills (written and spoken)
Project management knowledge, strong attention to detail and agile result-oriented negotiation skills
Strong team contributor, comfortable in collaborating with cross functional and multicultural teams in a highly active, fast paced environment across multiple time zones
Excellent presentation and written communication skills to various levels of the internal and supplier organizations
